Doc: Saiful told me plastic inserted into anus

Kgen: Nothing is consistent or logical in this case. Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan's meeting with Umno people and a police officer, his behaviour towards the accused after the event, Anwar Ibrahim's inability to overpower him or put him in fear, his delay in reporting the case, the unlikely DNA evidence, even the charge of consensual sodomy which does not agree with the complainant's claim - all these point to a badly fabricated and badly coordinated conspiracy to bring Anwar down.

Umno should be ashamed of trying to pull off this shady conspiracy as if the public are fools. They can jail Anwar, but they cannot convince Malaysians he was not the victim of a grave injustice. No wonder, BN needs to cheat in the elections.

Dr Mohamed Osman Abdul Hamid is an expatriate doctor who has no interest in the politics of this country. He recorded what he saw and heard.

Why would he change or insert anything as lead prosecutor Mohd Yusof Zainal Abiden suggested? What would be his motivation? He did not even know that the VIP alleged by the complainant was Anwar.

This is probably true. It might have happened when police officer Mohd Rodwan Mohd Yusof mixed Saiful's semen with Anwar's DNA and inserted the mixture into Saiful's anus by using the plastic, prior to Saiful's trip to visit the doctors to frame Anwar.

This is a real waste of taxpayers' time and money, a real shame displayed in front of the global community. Semen contaminated with so many unknown persons' DNA, making Malaysia's forensic and medical professionals appear like fools.

Ben-ghazi: Contradictions are often encountered when the whole incident itself is fabricated. There is only one version of truth. Truth reflects actual occurrence of an incident.

If an incident did not take place, and someone wants others to believe it did take place, then the reports will show contradictions, because these are prepared by different persons.

Cala: Dr Osman stands tall as a respectable medical doctor. He is perhaps a rare species not commonly found in hospital these days. Most of them, as evidenced from TBH (Teoh Beng Hock) case and A Kugan case, sold their profession to the powers-that-be in return for continuity in employment and promotion.

To me, this latter group is no better than any scavengers who are soulless and unprincipled.


An unsworn statement in court not evidence

Ong Guan Sin: A young lawyer, Eric Choo is. Our judiciary has indeed earned zero faith and respect from the public from its performance in the recent years. But is there an alternative for one to demand justice?

While it is generally deemed unfair and biased, there are still some, although rare, good judges for us to count on.

Furthermore, each case of injustice presided by a rogue judge serves to expose the judge. In other words, there is still value to file suits in a unjust judicial system. Choo, go practise some more years and open up your mind before writing on such matter.

Titan: As a lawyer, Choo should have know that accused's right after prima facie case has been established.

It was codified in Criminal Procedure Code section 173(ha) and section 183, not as claimed by the author that 'it is not provided anywhere in our Criminal Procedure Code'. Also see recent Federal Court decision on Lee Kwan Woh (2010).

Honest: Eric Choo, an MCA lawyer, has two years of practice and is now an expert at matters of law. I loath political adventurist.

I had followed the Anwar case from newspapers and bloggers. To my ordinary mind, it appears Anwar was prejudged. So far the courts seems to turn a deaf year to him.

Almost everyone I ask, say the same thing. They want to put Anwar in jail. Would not Anwar the man in the docks felt it more. In the event of balance of opinions, the court should be weighed by the view of the ordinary man.

Gerard Samuel Vijayan: The truth is that the government, prosecution, police and judiciary want to ensure that Anwar is found guilty and locked up for another nine years at least.

They are not interested in the truth or justice. Anwar is the biggest threat to the survival of Umno-BN and he must be eliminated at all costs. Anwar will never get justice because there already is a well-managed script to finish him off.

In the end, it is the voters who have the power to save him from a long prison term. The trial is indeed "the mother of all trials" as justice Abdul Malik Ishak said because it is a duel to the death between Umno and its arch nemesis Anwar - and these disgraceful, corrupt, inept and incompetent judges are allowing themselves to be the stage for this finale.

Ksn: I do not want to come to any conclusion about Anwar's unsworn statement. If it is his right to do so, it was his choice with I have no doubt with sound legal advice.

But for PKR vice-president N Surendran to compare Nelson Mandela and Anwar, assuming that he was not talking purely about Anwar copying Mandela's choice of a unsworn statement in court, is over the top.

The parallels should stop with that, no offence intended to Anwar.

Dzulkefly Ahmad: Some people accused Anwar of being afraid to be cross-examined. But what about Dr Mahathir Mohamad?

There has been no action by the attorney-general on the RCI (royal commission of inquiry) recommendations in the VK Lingam case because Umno is afraid that Mahathir would have to testify and be slaughtered by Karpal Singh in court.
