Two other potential witnesses for Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim's Sodomy II trial  sodomy trial were interviewed by his defence team today.

They are his bodyguard Mokhtar Mustafa and his driver Abdullah Sani Said.

NONEThey were interviewed for an hour by lawyers Karpal Singh (right) and Sankara Nair.

Anwar was also present during the interviews.

Karpal said two more witnesses would be interviewed tomorrow - the owner of the condo unit where the sodomy allegedly took place, Hasanuddin Abd Hamid - and Noor Sham Abdul Hamid.

“There is no indication when we will get to interview Premier Najib Abdul Razak and his wife Rosmah Mansor.

“The court has given a week for the prosecution to provide the witnesses sought by the defence before Anwar’s defence starts. So we will wait and see,” Karpal said.

The Kuala Lumpur High Court yesterday dismissed an objection from the prosecution to Anwar's presence during the interview sessions.

The objection was made by former IGP Musa Hassan and  former Malacca police chief Mohd Rodwan Mohd Yusof, who was Najib's aide de camp when he was deputy prime minister.

azlanJudge Mohamad Zabidin Mohd Diah ruled Anwar had the right to be present and following that, seven potential witnesses were interviewed.

They included Dr N Suresh Naidu of Kuala Lumpur Hospital and Dr S Jeyaindran, the consultant physician who had examined Anwar when he was arrested on July 16, 2008.

The rest were Anwar's alibi witnesses - former PKR central committee member Nik Mahmood Nik Hassan, MIER executive Mohamad Ariff Abdul Kareem,and retiree Nik Mohd Sidek Nik Abu Bakar.

Others were former Bursa Malaysia chief operating officer Omar Malek Ali Merican and Deutsche Bank chief executive officer Raymond Yeoh.

The medical professional Suresh and Jeyaindran are not in the list of 15 witnesses Anwar had applied for in two applications before the court, but part of another list of witnesses Anwar's lawyers had applied to interview.
