Merbok Umno division chief Tajul Urus Md Zain lost items RM6,000 when thieves broke into his multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) in Lagenda Heights, Sungai Petani early today.

In addition to a broken windshield, Tajul also lost a laptop computer, camera and Ipad 2 kept in the vehicle parked outside the fence of his house.

Tajul said that he only knew that the Toyota Harrier was broken into at 7am when accompanying his son to school.

Footage from closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera in his house found that the theft was committed by two men at 6.39am.

"It was committed by two men, one wore a crash helmet while the other wore a black turban to conceal the face.

"They broke my car's rear windshield and the driver's glass window. Another person was at the wheel of the waiting car," he told reporters at his home today.

Tajul said the incident was the third time for his family as thieves had broken into two of his children's cars and stole a laptop computer and baggage.

Kuala Muda district police chief ACP Hashim Ali confirmed receiving a police report on the theft.
