S'gor PAS wants explanation from Hasan Ali

Ferdtan: This is what warms the heart of the rakyat - PAS Selangor takes the bull by the horns. They act decisively by demanding an explanation from Hasan Ali, ex-Selangor PAS chief, before they act. This is democracy: giving fair hearing to the whoever is hauled up.

Hasan Ali must prove without any doubt what he has claimed, with unequivocal evidence, not hearsay. Any accusation without proven evidence is very much against the tenets of Islam.

NX: An explanation from PAS exco Hasan Ali should have been furnished by now. Why the delay? If Jais (Selangor Islamic Affairs Department) was in a rush to raid, and PAS has condoned it, the rakyat want an explanation. Please don't do the ‘wayang'  way practised by Umno and the BN.

Arbee: All these various opinions within the Pakatan Rakyat team only goes to prove that they don't have a common platform to develop a common line of action.

This definitely will stall the Pakatan's political agenda to take over Putrajaya. To achieve success, surely we all know we need a common platform. Religion should be above politics and what each religion does cannot be politicised.

Hanyayangbenar: Time and again, Hasan Ali has proven to be a thorn in flesh for the Selangor Pakatan government and also to his own party.

His actions seem to always contradict the state government. MB Khalid Ibrahim needs to do something fast to take action against him as they have caused irreparable damage to Selangor government's integrity.

Kgen: Hasan Ali is just an Umno Trojan horse in PAS just as Zul Nordin was an Umno Trojan in PKR. Where is the Zul fighting for Islam now after he was sacked? Their hardline religious stance is just to antagonise DAP and Pakatan supporters, so don't be fooled by these Umno Trojans.

Opah: Whether or not he is a Trojan horse is immaterial for the BN.  The fact that he only causes problems instead of contributing positively is just cause to remove him. Do it now. And forget about putting him up as a candidate in the next GE. He is a liability because non-Malays will definitely not vote for him.

Anonymous: For PAS and Pakatan to win the next GE, they must get rid of these unwanted baggage and liabilities. Hasan Ali is one them.

His narrow-mindedness and illogical deduction is out of sync with the majority. Umno and the BN are losing big time and they know it, hence they are using stooges to divide the opposition. It is a dangerous game they are playing and as in all battles, there will be casualties.

Patriot: Sacking him now would not do any good for Pakatan, especially PAS. Sack him and he will jump over to Umno and there goes another state seat/frog to Umno (and he's capable of this).

I'm sure the top leaders in PAS are monitoring his antics closely. And this was one reason why the PAS leadership in Selangor changed hands recently. I trust in their wisdom to resolve this problem amicably. Let's wait and see.

Anonymous_3e4b: Even if there is concrete evidence, what is so wrong about Muslims converting to Christianity and vice-versa. The world over, people are doing that - embracing the faith they truly believe in. This is called freedom of religious belief, which Malaysian Muslims will never have in their lifetime.

Teroid: What's there to be proud of being in a multiracial country if after so many years of living together in the same land and we still don't know how to respect each other's traditions, religions and cultures?

Is Malaysia as a multiracial country just an advertising slogan to attract foreign tourists?

Ben Hor: The irony is that the true 1Malaysia, a multiracial gathering is happening, and it had to be broken up by the PDRM and Jais.

What happened to Najib's so called "peaceful relations" between the Christians/Catholics after his trip to visit the Pope? Najib should be condemning Jais' unwarranted intrusion into a private event. So much for winning points among the Christians.


Kit Siang accuses Hasan of breaking ranks

Proarte: The syariah courts in Malaysia have declared albeit unconstitutionally that a Muslim is a 'Muslim forever' and cannot change his or her faith. So if this is the scenario in Malaysia, how can Hasan Ali and Jais justify their excuse about proselytisation?

Like most things in Malaysia, there is no logical basis to the authorities' actions, even if they choose to use Islam as the pretext.

Have the Malays who attended the dinner publicly renounced their faith? Given the constitution that says there is freedom of worship, how can Jais prevent 'Christian' activities from taking place in a church?

So what if Jesus' name was invoked in front of Muslims? How does this make a Muslim renounce his faith? Muslims must grow up.

Onyourtoes: This half-baked motivational speaker Hasan Ali thinks the state exco position is now too small for him. It was the popularity of Pakatan that got him elected, but now he thinks it is due to his capability and leadership qualities.

What can you expect from a half-baked former government servant with an obscure PhD, obtained at the government expense anyway?

SimpleSoul: Who do you think is Jais aligned to - Pakatan or BN? Gerakan's statements harping on this issue make fools of themselves.

Artchan: Is the Muslims' faith so weak that if they go to a church they will become Christian, go to a Hindu temple and they will become a Hindu? So if I hear religious sermons everyday from the mosques and surau near my home, will I become Muslim?
