Universiti Selangor (Unisel) deputy president (academic) Prof Dr Anuar Ahmad has been appointed acting vice-chancellor after the post was vacated by Dr Rosti Saruwono on Aug 2.

The appointment of Prof Dr Anuar is effective today until a new vice-chancellor is elected, said a statement issued by Selangor Menteri Besar’s press secretariat office today.

The decision to appoint Prof Dr Anuar as acting vice-chancellor was made at a meeting of the Unisel board of directors at the Menteri Besar’s office in Shah Alam today.

Prof Dr Anuar will perform duties as vice-chancellor with assistance of a special committee to smoothen the administration and strengthen Unisel’s finance.

The statement said the special committee will also assist the board of directors to find a suitable candidate for appointment as new vice-chancellor.

Rosti resigned on Tuesday saying he was unwilling to follow a directive to sack three Unisel officers without due process.
