PAS: Faction within Umno wants Najib out as PM

Swipenter: Could this movement to oust Najib Razak be comprising the Dr Mahathir Mohamad-Muhyiddin Yassin-Mukhriz- Hishammuddin Hussein axis?

The kingmaker is Mahathir, the new Umno president would be Muhyiddin with Hishammuddin as his deputy, and waiting in line as new PM would be Mukhriz after Muhyiddin has warmed the PM seat for him for a few years.

Hishammuddin would have his ambition fulfilled to become the DPM and maybe PM after Mukhriz. That could take years but he can wait because he has no choice and say in this matter.

The kingmaker would have then fulfilled his life-long ambition to instal his dynasty in Putrajaya before he expires.

Danny Lazaroo: As of now, this move against Najib is just hearsay and devoid of concrete evidence.

I think that this kind of speculative and gutter politics (read: character assassination) and tactics are unbecoming of Pakatan Rakyat, whom I generally support and see as an alternative government that would be based on principles of truth and transparency.

Speaking of truth and transparency, if this is an indeed accurate occurring within Umno, please provide us with evidence and facts. Don't just throw out this bomb with a 'wait for a few weeks' statement as your 'evidence' please.

It is exactly this kind of gutter politics that give Malaysian politics a really bad name. Though you know what - I can't help but secretly hope that this allegation is true.

Kgen: Danny Lazaroo, I won't say it is a political attack, I would say it is more like gloating over the other party's problems.

But Umno isn't going to fall. Whether under Najib or Muhyiddin, it is still a formidable opponent with all the instruments of power under its control, including the Election Commission and National Registration Department.

I just hope Najib doesn't resign before 13th GE or BN may be unbeatable with the new PM factor. However, if there is a bitter fight, elections may be postponed to next year.

Unfortunately, the in-fighting in Umno is not going to make it easier for Pakatan to oust BN. The cheating by EC is really too much to overcome.

Now foreigners are being roped in as voters with citizenship thrown in as part of the package and Chinese are denied from being registered as voters. How to get rid of BN?

FellowMalaysian: Dear Danny Lazaroo, if there's smoke, there's fire, right? One very strange thing I picked up from a wise former employer is that there is no such thing as a secret in this country.

Translated, it means simply, that top-secret information will find itself somehow leaked out, much like rain water seeping into the ground will soon find its way to the surface again.

This phenomenon, I believe, is peculiar to this Bolehland country where Najib and his cohorts of ministers spend the bulk of their time fighting fires rather than doing their jobs as ministers.

Mahindar Singh: This is not surprising. BN is in trouble for the simple reason:

a) unable to judge the mood of the people
b) leaders belong to the dinosaur era
c) weak in crime control
d) messed-up education system
e) top leaders or ex-leaders facing corruption charges
f) incompetent ministers
g) unresolved issues like Teoh Beng Hock and Ahmad Sarbaini
h) loss of faith with the police
i) MACC is just an extension of PM's Department

Mirror on the Wall: The scary part of this whole exercise is that, whoever replaces Najib, will be even more ruthless, greedy and conniving than him.

With all the stories of election fraud, manipulation and gerrymandering, BN may yet win. And then what do we do?

MYOB: If Najib steps down, who then will be the next PM? Muhyiddin? It would be just like jumping from hot pan into fire. Pakatan must win this GE or else we all are in more trouble in next five years.

DontPlayGod: Between Najib and Muhyiddin, I would still choose Najib, not because Najib is clean, but because Muhyiddin is a racist. Anyone who places race above his country first is a racist - pure and simple.

SusahKes: Well, Umno can do what they like; but we the rakyat will henceforth determine the destiny of this country. Not some 2,000 Ali Baba I-help-you, you-help-me delegates that gather during their annual ‘cari makan kumbayahs' inside PWTC.

For too long, we have left it in the hands of immoral politicians who have grown fat and comfy with power and position in Putrajaya. Let Umno self implode - it will do good for this country.

This is for all the Teoh Beng Hocks, the Kugans, the Altantuyas, the Scorpenes, the piratisations, the bailouts, the Istana Toyos, the APs, the BTNs, the plunder of the judiciary, the ‘I help you, you help me', and the ‘correct, correct, correct' that Umno has given to us.
