Deputy Chief Minister Yahya Hussin has brushed aside Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) president Yong Teck Lee's recent allegation that Sabah's phantom voters was due to Umno's selfish attitude.

He said Umno was not linked to the phantom voters, adding the party had nothing to do with the job of the Election Commission.

"We are just registering our followers... that's all.

"Look at our party's constitution, we are not there to create phantom voters," he told reporters after visiting the Ramadan Bazaar in Asia City in Kota Kinabalu today.

Yahya, who is also Sabah Umno liaison secretary, was asked to comment on Yong's allegation on Monday, that Umno's selfish attitude led to phantom voters.
