The new executive committee line-up for Parti Keadilan Rakyat's Youth wing will only be announced after a discussion between the component sections comprising the old Keadilan and PRM Youth.

However, it is learnt that former ISA detainee Lokman Noor Adam has already assumed his old post as secretary, which he had held prior to his two-year detention. He was released on June 12.

Lokman, who confirmed his appointment when contacted by malaysiakini, said the Youth wing expects to be occupied with the upcoming annual general meeting next month.

It will also embark on a nationwide campaign to protest the continued imprisonment of former deputy Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim on charges of corruption and sodomy. Anwar is advisor to the main party.

Youth chief Mohd Ezam Mohd Nor said no radical changes would be made to the original leadership list, which had been decided "months ago" and verified at a Keadilan meeting last Saturday.

This means the line-up will likely abide by the transitional list which has equal representation between the two component parties. For example, Keadilan leaders will take the first and third positions, and PRM will occupy the second and fourth spots in the hierarchy.

When contacted today, PRM Youth chief Faisal Sanusi also confirmed there would be minimal changes to its original nominations.

"The decision (to fill the secretary's post) was made ahead of the official announcement (for everyone else) because we need Lokman to start organising the wing," Faisal said.

He added that the upcoming meeting - the date of which has yet to be set - between the two sides will also iron out pre-merger issues such as the wing's constitution.

Apart from the secretary, three new candidates will replace Keadilan Youth exco members who resigned their posts in June, purportedly because of differences over the process adopted in including women members in the wing.

The four who resigned were secretary Saiful Izham Ramli, treasurer Rafizi Ramli, Perak chief Hanafiah Man and exco member Rizal Md Zain.

Mohd Ezam earlier said those who have resigned will continue to be party members, with Hanafiah to retain his appointment as editor of the party organ Seruan Keadilan.

He added that the resignations are not expected to affect the party much as the wing itself is undergoing a restructuring process following the merger.
