'Umno kafir': NSTP settles with Lim Kit Siang

Simon Lee 3ed5: It is most unbelievable that the opposition won on this rare occasion. But one swallow doesn't make a summer.

‘Utusan Perkasa bin Umno' has been spewing racism, sedition, stirring up hatred, racial sentiments and waging war against the people with impunity. What happened to the ‘investigation' on the Christian PM allegation and other seditious acts by Utusan Malaysia ?

With the collapse of the judiciary, and with every public institution being so corrupt, this is no victory, especially when there are clear-cut cases of abuse of human rights such as the use of Internal Security Act (ISA) and Emergency Ordinance (EO).

These cases have all been ignored by the authorities and systematically thrown out by the very institutions which are supposed to protect the rakyat and dispense justice for the countless victims of such crimes against humanity.

This is no real victory when the people are slaves to a corrupt regime in total control of every public institution of our nation. Change we must.

Lim Chong Leong: The suit is settled but the damage caused in the by-election is irreversible. This is another dirty trick of the BN.

Misquote first, then apologise, even when there was compensation after the by-election, the voters have already been influenced. Votes cast based on the misquote cannot be withdrawn and re-cast.

Pants on Fire: Serves the sycophants in Balai Berita right. You follow your Umno masters blindly and make others rich. New Straits Times leaves up to its abbreviation - Not So True after all.

Tired: If Lim Kit Siang truly believes in the competency, accountability and transparency (CAT) policy as espoused by his son Guan Eng in Penang, then he should make it public the money he receives from NSTP.

A righteous politician is expected to donate money he wins from litigation cases. We even have had people who sue and demand just a token RM1. It is because clearing one's name is paramount, while the money is secondary.

Not Convinced: Tired, a point of clarification. Kit Siang cannot alone reveal the settlement as this would be against the agreement with NSTP. Go ask NSTP to reveal it too.

YellowBoxer: I've noticed that the standard of reporting of Malay dailies in this country have reach new lows everyday. They do not care too hoots about the truth. To them, sensationalism is the ultimate goal.

Their aim is to get the attention of the few ultra Malays that are still around. The majority of Malays, however, are just fed up with the trash these papers churned out day in, day out.

MACC a house of criminals, says Kit Siang

Cala: Lim Kit Siang, name something after Teoh Beng Hock (TBH). Given that TBH was murdered, at the appropriate time, perhaps the Pakatan Rakyat state government may wish to name the Selangor state assembly hall after TBH as a remembrance of his death in the hands of a repressive regime bent to retake the state at all costs.

Poor TBH died because he refused to be cowed under the worst form of torture.

Lets be fair: In denying the truth about TBH, the whole country can see for themselves what beastly humans are at the helm. Our future generations cannot be subjected to their mode of rule.

Malaysia sakit: Well said, Lim. But the silent majority is still in political slumber, oblivious to the utter state of degradation of all the public institutions that were put in place to serve and protect the rakyat. If only the silent majority wake up to this realisation.

Anonymous_3f4b: The MACC (Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission) must be dissolved immediately. The public have lost all faith and trust in the body. Ask any man on the street about the image of MACC and the answer will be negative.

The only way to redeem its honour and credibility is to form a new body and start afresh, minus all the useless members of the advisory board and special complaints committee, who only know how to ‘bodek' (flatter) and give superficial advice.

Appoint persons of utmost integrity, those are God-fearing, to lead the body and make it answerable to Parliament. Revoke all other unnecessary appointments. Make it lean and hungry bereft of any shades of political influence and inclination.

Elias: It is really incredible and unbelievable that the BN government could be so lenient and tolerant to such a government agency full of beasts.

If it were in any normal democratic country, it would have drawn uproar from not just the opposition parties, but also the ruling ones.

On your toes: It is not the DAP that's concerned about the TBH case, but Malaysians as a whole who want to see justice done.

Those MACC officers did not just violate standard operating procedures (SOP) or department procedures.

No, they did more than that: they committed torture, were accessories to political scheming, were extremely biased and even inherently racist in their orientation and attitude.

The action against Selangor Pakatan figures was never about fighting corruption or abuse of power - even a moron could see that.
