MACC suspends three officers over Teoh's death

Cala: Who is the real murderer of TBH (Teoh Beng Hock)? Someone in this forum has interpreted the meaning of "intensive interrogation" to mean "torturing"; hence the murderer is none other than Hishamuddin Hashim and his gang.

But who is the real mastermind? It has to be the one at the other end of the line purportedly informing Hishamuddin of irregularities in the administration of Selangor state government (see RCI report and Malaysian Bar Council statement).

Hence the torturing of TBH until death in the hands of murderous Selangor MACC was a politically motivated endeavour aimed to dethrone Selangor state government.

Who else but the Umno-led BN regime would stand to benefit should that happen. So who is the mastermind?

Nik V: The likes of Hishamuddin are merely gangsters in sheep's clothing put there as loyal and trained bulldogs by Umno-BN to serve their purpose of staying in power while intimidating anybody who stand in their way.

When the likes of Hishamuddin know that they have the highest echelons in the political arena to protect them as well, they have no fear of being cruel or taking things to the edge.

So ultimately while Hishamuddin is culpable, his political masters are guilty too, whether directly or indirectly.

Mokhtar Abu Seman: It would be necessary to find out what had driven the three MACC officers to have behaved in such a way. Was it a carrot hung in front by someone in power or was it personal?

I think it is more the former. Thus the investigation should include the cause of such behaviour so that all those guilty can be charged.

Multi Racial: Congratulation for making the first step in the right direction to suspend Hashimmuddin Hashim, Mohd Anuar Ismail and Mohd Ashraf Mohd Yunus with immediate effect.

I hope it does not stop there. Mohd Anuar and Mohd Ashraf should be charged for abetting the murder of Teoh. Hashimmuddin, on the other hand, should be charged either for the murder of Teoh or abetting the murder of Teoh. Abetting should only come in if Hishammuddin can name whoever directing him to conduct such exercise.

We need to get to the bottom of this to make sure all, not just a few, who were involved in the murder of Teoh be penalised to the maximum of the law. This is cruel and there should not be any compassion for those three who cause Teoh's death.
Onyourtoes: First, I think all the committees, including the complaints committee, are a waste of time. Why have they not done anything before the RCI report?

Second, I think the suspension and internal probe is not good enough, more so there are no dateline and these officers are still given pay. We want police to investigate and we want the attorney-general to prosecute these officers under relevant laws.

Third, it is not good enough to say MACC will not protect anyone from wrongdoing. We will not believe you. The whole motivation of investigating TBH and the DAP excos was mala fide. How then can we trust you will not protect the wrongdoers?

FellowMalaysian: MACC itself should be charged for their inconceivable failure in ensuring the safety of a witness within the compounds of their premises, and more importantly, for gross negligence in allowing their senior officers to abuse the powers and authority given to them, resulting in TBH's suicide.

These men have totally and unscrupulously violated the sacrosanct duties entrusted to them and they acted in connivance with one another. To allow this to happen, MACC should be taken to task as they hold ultimate responsibility to any gross misconduct by their men.

Kaisim: A suspension of duties for such criminal acts is too light a punishment because they have caused the death of a person. These officers should be charged with serious crime and compensation should be awarded to the victim's family for their suffering.

Democracy: Another investigation? Have you not wasted enough of taxpayer's money? The RCI found that Hishamuddin held meetings with the officers to cover up the incident after Teoh's death.

All the officers present kept quiet except two brave ones who spoke out. Aren't those officers who attended the meetings and kept quiet as guilty as the trio? Are they not collaborators? Are they going to be let off scot-free? If so, wouldn't this encourage future officers to keep quiet when they are in the know of some conspiracy?

MACC seems to have very primitive understanding of transparency and responsibility. How then can they be the guardian against corruption?

Anonymous_5fb: The theory of 'suicide' is acting as leverage to 'protect' the three MACC officers from being charged for murder as they have acted according to the aspiration of higher authority.

If such 'protection' is not there, more shits are sure to hit the fan and more VVIPs will be implicated. MACC as a whole has no more decency and integrity left, and in fact should be disbanded.

What is the use of suspending the three officers and forming a committee to investigate further?

Krish Viswa: It is still not too late. Charge Hishamuddin for first degree murder of Teoh Beng Hock and the ex-chief minister of the richest state in Malaysia will pop up automatically. If they do not want to do it now, then do it when Pakatan Rakyat has taken over Putrajaya.

Kit P: Teoh's death was not the result of a few rogue officers. It was the result of a systematic, mala-fide, officially sanctioned campaign by the MACC to force admission of impropriety by members of the Pakatan Rakyat administration, by whatever means necessary. Yes, the MACC as an organisation itself is guilty of Teoh Beng Hock's death.

Not Confused: Another report on a report on the RCI report - where does this ridiculous farce end? Just fire the three of them then arrest them.

Two years is long enough and it's time to put this matter to rest and give closure to the family. The MACC themselves cannot be trusted to investigate themselves. Any more than PDRM can be trusted to investigate their own crimes.

MACC likening themselves to their Hong Kong counterparts? What a joke - and these idiots probably actually believe their own spin.

Justiceandpeace: If the century-old News of the World was shut down after being found guilty of phone hacking, I think the MACC should disband itself after being found guilty of culpable homicide, or worse.
