Selangor police will start mounting roadblocks and inspections at all light rail transit (LRT) and KTM Komuter stations throughout the state this evening, to monitor activities related to the planned illegal rally tomorrow.  

State police chief Tun Hisan Tun Hamzah warned that police would arrest anyone in possession of paraphernalia or T-shirts related to the rally.

“We will be assisted by Kuala Lumpur police in this operation but we cannot divulge further details for security reasons,” he said at a press conference at the Bukit Sentosa police station in Rawang today.

Tun Hisan said the overall situation in Selangor was under control and Selangor police had to date received 450 reports against the planned gathering.

So far, 47 arrests had been made, he added.
    
“I advise the people of Selangor to stay away from Kuala Lumpur tomorrow as there will be many roadblocks,” he said.

Tun Hisan said the roadblocks and inspections at the LRT and KTM Komuter stations were to prevent any untoward incident.

To a question, he said Selangor police had not received any application for a permit to hold the rally in a stadium in the state.
