A three-year-old boy died after he was knocked down by his father's car in the driveway of their home in Terengganu, local media reported today.

Mohamad Helmi Mohamad Noor was playing with his four-year-old sister when their father, a factory supervisor, returned home.

While instructing his sister-in-law to move a motorcycle, Mohamad Nor Zakaria, 28, failed to realise his car was still moving slowly forward and hit his son, the New Straits Times reported.

"Mohamad Nor stopped his car when he heard something being knocked down and was shocked to see his unconscious son," a police spokesman was quoted as saying.

Helmi was rushed to hospital but died two hours later. - AFP
