Private users will not be charged fees for using the 1Malaysia email service @MyEmail.com, the Dewan Rakyat was told today.

Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak said only private companies or government agencies that use the email service are charged fees.
“Like other services, the charge depend on the number of emails sent,” he said in a written reply to Hee Loy Sian (PKR-Petaling Jaya Selatan) who asked why Tricubes was allowed to manage the 1Malaysia Email project.
Najib said Tricubes was chosen as the company has a sound business plan and supported by ICT giant Microsoft.
Tricubes was compared with three other companies that expressed the desire to develop a safe and sound email system.
Its extensive experience in biometric security used by over 200 customers and over 60 percent market share gave Tricubes the edge.
