He said this was due to the fact that they were being given an incentive of 20 sen per kilogramme of fish as compared to 10 sen per kilogramme for boats not operating in deep waters.
"The increase in diesel price from RM1.25 to RM 1.80 since June 1 is not an excuse to protest and stop catching fish," he told reporters during a visit to check diesel sales to Zone C2 boats at the Kuala Perlis LKIM complex today.
Accompanying Sabry on the visit were Perlis LKIM director, N Hashim Ab Rahman and Perlis Fisheries director, Sukri Deris.
