Onyourtoes: The PM should appoint Ridhuan Tee Abdullah, the lecturer from our esteemed National Defence University, as his Chinese political secretary. That would have been more appropriate and effective and in consonance with the BN manifesto.

How much baloney can we get to appoint a Chinese political secretary to hoodwink Chinese into supporting a wrong national agenda, an ill-conceived national aspiration and a misplaced national objective?

An honourable Chinese should never take up an appointment like this; it accentuates the haplessness of Chinese Malaysians.

The embarrassing Chinese translation during the Chinese premier's visit is not a technical mistake or incompetence. It showed the lack of Chinese representation all round, that anything and everything ‘Chinese' is treated cursorily and casually. It is an attitude and a national ethos problem, if you know what I mean.

Clearwater: It's not about changing perceptions to get back Chinese support or any other community's support. It's about transformation of a corrupt and failing system that has been in place for three decades serving certain political elites and which is blocking Malaysia's progress.

We want real change and fair treatment for all Malaysians, irrespective of ethnic and religious backgrounds. We want a crutchless Malaysian society where all can contribute their talent and be rewarded accordingly. We want to hold our heads up high in the world, and not be dealt more lies and deceit. Can you accomplish that, PM Najib Razak?

And since your predecessor fumbled on Google Translator, I recommend that you use Babel Fish, the translator from Yahoo. Try it so that we do not see this embarrassment again.

Swipenter: Just honour the rights of the Chinese and non-Malays that are guaranteed under the federal constitution, and Najib can win back their support hands down. There is no need to appoint respective special political secretaries for Chinese, Indians, Ibans, Dayaks, etc.

Najib, you are naive to assume that by appointing a special Chinese political secretary, you can solve the discontent of the Chinese community. It goes to show how out of touch you are with them and other non-Malays (and non-Umno Malays)

Rick Teo: Najib can appoint anybody, but the inevitable truth is that he will still be booted out of Putrajaya. The present air is foul and dirty we need a breath of fresh air. No ordinary perfume can change that.

Don't think for a second Goh or anybody can change that. We need to change all the people manning the country's institution from PDRM to the Justice Department. We need to imprison all those politicians who have stolen the rakyat's money. The first should be Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

Meranti Kepong: Had Najib real done his work well and discharge his responsibilities to all sections of the Malaysian population, be they Malays, Chinese, Indians and others, there wouldn't be any need to use a Chinese to be his political secretary. No amount of cosmetic politics will work.

Najib, what you are doing now is too little and too late. Your complacency and your showing of favours to Malay supremacists such as Ibrahim Ali has angered deeply the Chinese population. You would be surprised if one Chinese who is worth even one grain of salt would cast his or her decisive vote for you and your cohorts come the next general election.

Take Penang CM's job offer, rep urges SUPP's Sim

Proarte: Dr Sim Kui Hian is a dynamic personality when it comes to medical matters, particularly in the field of organisation and clinical research. His former pre-eminent position in Sarawak's cardiological services was the best way he could serve the people.

No doubt that his ability to raise Kuching's government health care to international standards was also due to his family connections. His loyalty to SUPP is misplaced as the Chinese have moved on, deserting SUPP in droves.

His comments to the media have shown him in very bad light, totally unbecoming of a caring doctor that he is. Those who have seen him on the hustings during the recent elections will attest to the fact that he does not cut an impressive figure.

He is uncharismatic and can hardly speak Malay. His spoken English too is more befitting of a 'char kway teow' seller than an eminent doctor. He is totally wasted in the field of politics. His should return to medicine.

Anonymous_5fb: There are many Umno/BN politicians and I should say some in Pakatan Rakyat, who have the mentality of "if you are not with me politically, you are my enemy even if you are a decent person".

It is this kind of mentality that debating and voting in Parliament and state assemblies are all for narrow political interests of their political masters instead of for the wider rakyat's interests.
This kind of immature mentality should be discarded at all costs.

Anonymous: A heart surgeon? The heart of the matter is whether Sim really wants to help the people. Apparently that is not where his heart is. Deep in my heart, I can't believe a good person would say the things he said. He sounds so heartless and selfish.

ONG: DAP state assemblyperson Violet Yong said Dr Sim "has been busy globe-trotting and that did not sound like a man with no job". She's wrong. Dr Sim's globe-trotting makes him appear to be a man actually with no job but with plenty of money.

However, Dr Sim's statement that "My heart is with SUPP as my whole family has been with the party since the time of my late father, the late Sim Kheng Hong" is juvenile and it shows his political immaturity.

Imagine an adult and an aspiring politician whose allegiance to a political party is based solely on his family's political affiliation and not on his own political beliefs and convictions. It is better for him to stick to medical practice.

Voice: True, we can't have a right people in a wrong party. Sim should know very well what is SUPP before he join in.

He should know what this party can offer him especially in term of individual advancement. He have a big heart but the big heart is not with the people. I think is a waste of time unless he first have a heart transplant to have a change of heart.
