An Orang Asli woman, who was blinded and disfigured when an unknown person splashed acid on her face, recalled the incident which befell her in Mantin last March.

Until today, Zuhaina Tengkis, 27, kept asking what had she done to be harmed in such a way.

"It happened about 9.30pm in the middle of March while I was riding pillion on a motorcycle with a cousin after meeting a friend in town when two men on a motorcycle overtook us.

"One of them shouted Hi and when I turned my head to look at him, he splashed something on my face," she said.

Zuhaina, who has two children, said she went to Seremban Hospital and then referred to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital for treatment.

"I was told that my eyes cannot be saved. Until today my face hurt," she said when met by reporters after Negeri Sembilan MCA chairperson Dr Yeow Chai Thiam visited the family today.

Following the incident, Zuhaina said she now had to rely on her husband, Nor Azman Jani, 30, a rubber tapper.
