Members of parliament and the senate have been reminded not to use the house for self promotion what with general election just around the corner.
They should use the mandate given to champion the people and not speak for the sake of politics and to gain public sympathy.

Dewan Negara president Abu Zahar Ujang said they should use the mandate given to champion the people and not speak for the sake of politics and to gain public sympathy.
"Refrain from action and words that won't do any good to the country's security and peace," he told Bernama at his office at parliament house today.
Abu Zahar said MPs and senators must respect the sanctity of both houses in line with the ethics, rules and the federal constitution.
Dewan Rakyat will sit from June 13-28 while Dewan Negara from July 4-July 12.
