Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak and his wife, Rosmah Mansor, will visit the site of a landslide which claimed 16 lives at an orphanage in Hulu Langat soon after returning on Tuesday from their visit abroad.

A statement from the Prime Minister's Office today said Najib and Rosmah extended their condolences to the families of those who were killed in the tragedy at Rumah Anak-anak Yatim dan Anak-anak Hidayah Madrasah Al-Taqwa Hulu Langat yesterday.

 

It said they hoped that the families would remain calm and patient in their moment of bereavement.

Najib and Rosmah are now in Washington as part of the prime minister's working visit to the United States from May 17.

The landslide hit the orphanage at 2.30pm yesterday. Nine people were rescued from the rubble.
