Mahathir’s special officer Sufi Yusof said the site was first detected being attacked by malware on April 7, but had been certified “clean” by global search engine Google on April 12.
Chedet.co.cc was again attacked by malware on April 22 and plans were under way to get Google’s clearance as a malware-free website, he told Bernama today.
“This will take three to four days before it can be verified as a malware-free site, once a report is made to Google,” he said.
Sufi said if needed, Mahathir’s blog chedet.co.cc could be considered to move to another platform.
“If we cannot sort this out with Google, it is likely that we have to consider the option of migrating chedet.co.cc as the downtime is wreaking havoc.
“Our readers are not able to come in to read and post comments, and our advertisers are deprived of exposure for the space taken. But at this moment, we are taking it one step at a time and migration is just an option,” he said.
Readers throughout Malaysia experienced some difficulties in surfing the blog after their attempt to enter has been blocked by the browser indicating that the fourth prime minister of Malaysia is a malware site.
