The Attorney-General’s Chambers has handed back the investigation papers (IPs) pertaining to the death of Customs officer Ahmad Sarbani Mohamed to include a statement from a specific witness, said City police chief Zulkifli Abdullah.

He said the IPs, which were forwarded to the AG’s Chambers on Friday, were returned to the police yesterday.

“The IPs will be be reverted back to the AG’s Chambers once the task is completed. However, I cannot reveal who the witness is,” he told reporters after officially opening a school adoption programme at SMK Raja Abdullah, Taman Batu, Sentul in Kuala Lumpur today.

Prior to this, Zulkifli had said police had quizzed 44 witnesses in connection with the case.  

Ahmad Sarbani, 56, who was attached to the Port Klang Customs Department, was found dead on the 1st floor badminton court of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission building in Jalan Cochrane in Kuala Lumpur on April 6.

He was reported to have gone there concerning a corruption investigation involving Customs officers. Police have classified the case as sudden death.
