PKR to take on 48 seats

Hidup Rakyat: The truth is nobody knows Sarawak better than Sarawakians who live and stay in Sarawak. How sure is Pakatan Rakyat about making inroads into the interiors of Sarawak?

PKR seems to be the only party which promised giving back autonomy to Sarawakians should Pakatan win. If that is so, shouldn't PKR allow Sarawakians run the campaign?

Its central committee members should only be there to assist them, not run the show, because only Sarawakians understand well their people, culture and dissatisfaction against the current government.

Be realistic (like DAP), only then will PKR be more acceptable by the rakyat. You work towards one goal, one step at a time. Just as Snap is questionable to PKR, so is PKR to Sarawakians.

FatLOM: We have not seen the full list from PKR to determine how many are Sng Chee Hua's men. Sng's men may frog over to BN, if it serves Sng's purpose. PKR, keep your list clean from Sng for Sarawak's sake, or else we may have to abandon PKR, just like we abandoned Snap. So who will win? Abdul Taib Mahmud, lah.

WikAdam: Hello, PKR, where is your candidates list? Who runs where? Afraid to announce just yet because you don't want infighting between your on people? Snap is right. How to negotiate winnability when PKR can't even name who their candidates are? Nomination day is less than 48 hours away.

Ayoyo: Anwar/PKR are not stupid. Why should they announce the candidates now? There are so many tactical moves involved, there's no need to respond to such questions. Those in the real battlefield know much better than most of us armchair politicians, who only know how to comment.

There are so many enemies within and without, PKR needs to be very careful. They have learnt so much from their mistakes in the peninsular. So Pakatan, march on!

John Ho: I don't think it's about whether Pakatan will win or lose big in Sarawak that matters. As a Pakatan supporter, it is not for Pakatan to decide whether they can win, but for Sarawakians to want changes in the state. Maybe they still think that the present BN government led by Taib Mahmud can still give them goodies.

We have seen a lot of changes in Penang and Selangor, and if the Sarawakians believe that Pakatan can upgrade their lives and provide better opportunities for their children, I don't see any harm in letting Pakatan lead the state or even the federal government.
We alway keeping talking about petrol prices, corruption, racism, unfair business opportunities, education and others matters pertaining to our livelihood.

But when Pakatan offers a chance to change, we just dug our heads into the sand again and worried that we cannot cari makan.

Kenyalang: This is very distressing news indeed, but I am not surprised. The total seats to be contested is 71. DAP will contest in 15 and PAS, 5. Which leaves 51 to be split between Snap and PKR. I can see why Snap insisted on a 50-50 split of seats between Snap and PKR. This is a Sarawakian thing.

We want change, but we are also wary of jumping from the pan into the fire. Once bitten, twice shy and we have not learnt to trust everyone from outside Sarawak completely yet. I believe some from Snap will jump, but that will not mean those from PKR will not jump as well. PKR wants to field 48 candidates, but have their background been investigated properly?

The way I see it, both Snap and PKR are rumoured to have sponsors with ‘unknown' background. Snap is supposedly sponsored by some big guns from Kuala Lumpur. And PKR is also known to talk to Sng Chee Hua (a very wealthy man), whose son Larry Sng was not selected by BN to contest because he was kicked out from PRS as he tried to overthrow the party president.

So, each of these guys take 26-27 seats, and let time prove itself who is sincere. Because honestly, I don't trust either one at the moment.

Anonymous: There is a whole world of difference between wanting to win because of an ambition to get to Putrajaya, and wanting to win because of a sincere intention to uphold the rights of Sarawak natives. Anwar and PKR are people in the first group.

They had just woken up to the fact that purporting to fight for Sarawak natives may be a vote-winner after 12 years of ignoring their plight. It is doubtful they really have the interests of Sarawakians at heart.

There should be a Dayak chief minister for Sarawak, but he/she shouldn't be from PKR and answerable to KL party bosses. The CM should be from Snap.

Ghkok: The question is this - Is PBB a ‘Sarawak party'? Or is SUPP a ‘Sarawak party'? The answer is ‘no'.

A Sarawak party is one who does not abuse the Sarawak people. A Sarawak party is one who does not plunder the wealth of the state. A Sarawak party is one who does not intimidate and threaten its own people. A Sarawak party is one who does not steal its own people's land. A Sarawak party is one who will never allow its peoples' Bibles to be desecrated.

No, the BN parties are never Sarawak parties. They are only Sarawak by name. Snap has to decide whether they want to be remembered as a ‘Sarawak party' or as a traitor to the Sarawak people and an accomplice to BN.

But this time around Snap is playing the spoiler. This is the trademark of the Dayak parties - easily bought by the powers-that-be.

Why? Because Snap leaders are dirt poor and are only looking for money for themselves. Anyone who do not believe me, please go to the Telang Usan Snap candidate office in Miri and you will find not only Snap flags but Umno flags as well.
