PAS looks to recapture lost seats in Selangor

PAS is confident of recapturing seats that it had lost in Selangor, when the next general election - speculated to be called soon - comes around.
PAS is confident of recapturing seats that it had lost in Selangor, when the next general election - speculated to be called soon - comes around.
The party’s Selangor information chief Roslan Shahir (right) said today that PAS has been gearing up for snap polls since the beginning of the year.
“In the 20 seats contested previously we had won eight and lost 12. This time out of the 12, we hope to secure at least eight seats, especially the Seri Serdang assembly seat where the PAS candidate lost by a thin majority of 45 votes,” he said.
Among the other prime locations PAS has been actively fishing for support are Sabak, Sungai Ayer Tawar, Morib, Taman Templer and Paya Jaras.
Roslan added that the party is confident of retaining its current eight state assembly seats and four parliament seats.
Last week, Selangor Menteri Besar Khalid Ibrahim (left) said that the state assembly will not be dissolved in the event of an early general election, at least not until March 2012.
Khalid had said that Pakatan will govern the state as they were given the mandate until March 2013 and this will allow for more time to implement its policies.
Roslan said PAS fully supports the menteri besar’s decision as focus on the “development of the state” has garnered public attention.
