Pakatan trio probed for 'sedition, illegal assembly'
Three Pakatan Rakyat representatives are being investigated under the Police Act for allegedly holding an illegal assembly last Friday, and under the Sedition Act for speeches that allegedly could incite a revolution against the government.

PKR deputy president Azmin Ali, former PAS information head Saari Sungib and Gombak PKR deputy division leader Amiruddin Shaari had their statements recorded today at the Ampang Jaya district police station.
Accompanying them were PKR legal bureau head Latheefa Koya, party vice-president and lawyer N Surendran, lawyer Fadiah Nadwa and Ampang MP Zuraida Kamarudin.
The questioning took about 90 minutes.
About 50 supporters, who had gathered outside, chanted 'Reformasi' and 'Hidup Rakyat' as the three emerged from the police station.
They held placards reading Tolak politik lucah (Reject lewd politics) referring to the sex video purportedly depicting PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim, which he has denied.
Azmin told reporters that he was asked 18 questions prepared by the Selangor police contingent headquarters, mainly pertaining to his speech during the ceramah at his service centre in Gombak.
Among the questions for Azmin, who is Gombak MP, were:
- Did your speech incite the rakyat to go against the government?
- Did you bring up the revolutions in Egypt and Tunisia?
- Did you ask the youth to bring about change in the country?
Azmin said he was informed that two police reports were lodged against him, triggering the investigations.
However, he claimed that police officer Vasu Apu - who conducted the questioning - admitted that he had not seen the police reports.
"The line of questioning makes it seem like Malaysia is a police state and that Malaysians are living under a dictatoship," Azmin said.
‘Private premises’
Agreeing, Surendran - also a lawyer who is representing Azmin in pursuing legal action over the same incident - said this gives the impression that it is illegal to criticise the government. 
He noted that the ceramah - which drew about 1,500 PKR supporters - was in fact legal, as it was held in the private compound of the Gombak MP's service centre.
"It was in fact the police who illegally disrupted the assembly," said Surendran (in white shirt).
The event turned unruly when police, including riot police, stopped Anwar from continuing his speech.
He had intended to rebut the sex-video allegation, but his speech was stopped several minutes before his time-limit of 15 minutes expired.
