Renault changes retail concession in Msia
PARIS - French car manufacturer Renault said today that a new Malaysian distributor, TC Euro Cars, would sell Renault vehicles, handle after sales and assemble the Kangoo commercial vehicle.
TC Euro Cars, a subsidiary of Malaysian company Tan Chong Motor (TCMH), would distribute and handle after sales from mid-2003 and local production of the Kangoo, adapted to local conditions, would begin in 2004.

Until now Renault vehicles have been imported by Quasar Carriage, and a Malaysian company, Inokom, has assembled a local version of the Renault Trafic under its own name.
Renault said that it expected to be able to export from Malaysia to other countries in the region under the terms of the AFTA free trade area in South East Asia aimed at a reduction of customs duties.
TCMH, which had sales of US$461 million in 2002, has assembled and sold Nissan vehicles for 45 years. Renault is a key shareholder in Nissan. AFP
