Flamboyant forensics expert Dr Pornthip Rojanasunand of Thailand has confirmed she will testify before the Royal Commission of Inquiry into Teoh Beng Hock's death.

RCI secretary Saripuddin Kasim said in a statement that she has responded to their request and a date is being set for Pornthip to testify.

The RCI has also secured the help of the Malaysian High Commission in London to contact Prof Dr Peter Vanezis to give his expert opinion as well.

NONE Both Pornthip ( right ) and Vanezis were engaged to give their expert opinions during the inquest into Teoh's death.

Pornthip, who was engaged by the Selangor government, shocked the nation when she revealed that the second post-mortem on Teoh's body proved that he did not commit suicide.

The expert with the Thai Ministry of Justice's Forensic Science Institute also said there was an 80 percent chance that Teoh's death was homicide .

Vanezis, who was brought in by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission, disagreed with Pornthip's assertion, stating that the Teoh's injuries showed he was most likely "conscious" and "fully orientated".

The RCI was formed in late January, after the 18-month long inquest returned an open verdict.

The body of Teoh, a DAP political aide, was found sprawled on the fifth floor landing of Plaza Masalam in Shah Alam on July 16, 2009.

He had been questioned overnight as a witness at the Selangor MACC office on the 14th floor of the building.
