PKR deputy president Azmin Ali says he is not aware of an external audit report that says he and another six PKR MPs had failed the party's Key Performance Index (KPI) test, and challenged the online media that reported this to prove it.

"As far as I'm concerned, there was no deliberation or discussion of this report. I'm quite surprised Free Malaysia Today (FMT) carried this unreliable report," he told Malaysiakini today.

NONEThe online news portal in its report today quoted an anonymous source claiming that Azmin (right) was among seven party MPs classified as "non-performing elected representatives" in an external audit report prepared by a special committee headed by supreme council member Nik Mahmood Nik Hassan.

The other MPs on the list are Azan Ismail (Indera Mahkota), Kamarul Baharin Abbas (Telok Kemang), Abdullah Sani (Kuala Langat), Hee Loy Sian (Petaling Jaya Selatan), Yusmadi Yusoff (Balik Pulau) and Loh Gwo-Burne (Kelana Jaya).

Azmin, who is also Gombak MP and Bukit Antarabangsa assemblyperson, challenged the online portal to prove the veracity of the report.

Former PKR deputy president Syed Husin Ali echoed his successor's statement.

"As far as I know, there is no report about PKR MPs' KPI," Syed Husin posted in micro-blogging website Twitter.

Fuziah: Only president saw KPI report

Meanwhile, PKR vice-president Fuziah Salleh confirmed that she developed the KPI evaluation system, approved by the party's leadership council, for all PKR MPs, assemblypersons and councillors to improve their performance during her tenure as the party training director in 2009.

"The KPI system is never used in the context of punishment," she stressed, adding that the KPI can serve as a guideline to all MPs.

"It was developed based on the best international practice in politics."

She admitted that the independent audit was undertaken by Nik Mahmood but he reported directly to party president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.

"I'm not privy to the audit report. I never saw the content of it," she said when contacted.

Fuziah also denied the same FMT report that alleged Fuziah of surrendering her election director post to Azmin in exchange for his support in the party polls last year which she contested and won the vice-president post.

"I did not win on anyone's mercy," she stressed.
