Kedah Gerakan Youth chief Tang Keng Liang today stressed in a statement he has never agreed to the implementation of hudud law despite agreeing to having talks with PAS about it.

"We will explain its implementation and they will give their views. We believe through dialogue we will come to a resolution that is harmonious. Differences are usually the result of misunderstanding and suspicion,' Nasruddin told Star.

Tang clarified that the meeting arose from an earlier invitation from Nasruddin to explain hudud laws to him as reported in the media.

He related his private conversations on Twitter with Nasruddin that he claimed led to the tete-a-tete session scheduled to be held in Kuala Lumpur on Thursday.

"The dialogue would enable Ustaz Nasrudin to explain their version of hudud laws that PAS and Pakatan Rakyat intend to implement in Malaysia.

"I would explain why I am against such laws in Malaysia...why hudud laws are not suitable for our multiracial, multi-religious country," added Tang.

Tang said, he believes that the people cannot just rely on DAP to oppose hudud laws after their partnership with PAS and the refusal of Pakatan Rakyat to reject hudud law outright.

"I will issue a statement on the outcome of my dialogue with Ustaz Nasrudin at a later stage," concluded Tang.
