Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak left today for a three-day official visit to Turkey.

Najib, accompanied by his wife Rosmah Mansor, left on the government executive jet at 9.30am from the Bunga Raya Complex at the KL International Airport.

Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin and several cabinet ministers and parliamentarians saw them off at the airport.

In Ankara, Najib will have a private meeting with Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan before talks involving officials from both sides.

Najib is due to witness the signing of a memorandum of understanding between SME Corp Malaysia and the Small and Medium Enterprise Development Organisation and an agreement between DRB-Hicom Defence Technologies Sdn Bhd and Turkish company FNSS Savunma Sistemleri.

In Istanbul, Najib will call on Turkish President Abdullah Gul and take part in the Malaysia-Turkey roundtable business talks, organised by the Institute of Strategic and International Studies and the International Movement for a Just World.

Earlier, at the Bunga Raya Complex, Najib received Chinese Minister of Public Security Meng Jianzhu, who is in Malaysia with a 35-member delegation.

Jianzhu, who arrived here on Friday, met Home Minister Hishammuddin Hussein on Saturday.

Before coming to Malaysia, Jianzhu visited North Korea, Laos and Singapore.
