Sosilawati murder: Two face 20 years' jail

The Teluk Datok magistrate's court in Banting had on Oct 15 sentenced them to seven years' jail for each on four counts of disposing evidence. But the sentences were to run concurrently.
Judge Mohtaruddin Baki today amended the sentence to five years jail for each count of disposing of evidence, and ordered the imprisonment to run consecutively.
Sarawanan, 20, and Suresh, 27, had pleaded guilty to carrying and burning the bodies of Sosilawayi, 47, bank officer Norhisham Mohammad, 38, lawyer Ahmad Kamil Abdul Karim, 32, and driver Kamaruddin Shamsuddin, 44, and disposing of the ashes.
Sarawanan is said to have committed the offence in Jalan Tanjung Layang, Tanjung Sepat, Banting on Aug 30 while Suresh disposed of evidence at Sungai Panchau in Jalan Morib Banting the same day.
