vox populi small thumbnail'Don't they know the net effect of all this heavy borrowing will affect BN as well as the opposition for generations to come?'

RON97 up 10 sen from tonight

Ericlcc: The problem is what will be the price of fuel when crude oil price reaches US$120? Yet, the government can still roll out multi-billion ringgit projects as if there is no tomorrow.

Don't these BN voters also realise that incessant government borrowing will have a severe impact on our future economy? With too much debt, our economic status will be downgraded, inflation will rise and the majority of people will soon be living with barely enough to survive.

Our oil revenues are declining and other non-oil revenues are needed. Instead of the high-income society we have, there'll be a high-inequitable-income society.

Don't they know the net effect of all this heavy borrowing will affect BN as well as the opposition for generations to come? Are BN voters that dumb that they are contend to be the happy one-off blissful generation to the detriment of their children?

Swipenter: "They say that the government should instead go on an austerity drive, swiftly plug leakages and stamp out graft." Then how to have or afford the following:

1) Big fat accounts here and overseas
2) Palatial mansions here
3) Properties for rent here and overseas
4) Trophy wives and girlfriends
5) Exotic cars
6) Holiday homes scattered around the globe
7) Children all studying overseas and/or international schools
8) Private planes or helicopters
9) Huge investments in companies like San Miguel

Azakh: PM Najib Abdul Razak and gang need to recoup the RM200 million they had given to the voters at Tenang. So they are smart and tax the rich, because the rich are indirectly their cronies.

Gunner: Dear PM, before you cut down subsidies, please get rid of excessive spending, eliminate corruption, cut down your overseas trips, no direct or negotiated contracts, and so on. I was informed that your recent half-day visit to Sabah cost the state government a million ringgit?

AkuMelayu: If you understand economic fundamentals, you would have seen it coming. Petroleum price in our country is controlled through a managed float. With the crisis in Egypt and other Middle East countries, world crude oil prices has shot up to almost US$100 a barrel and it hasn't reach its ceiling yet. So, we have to bear with it.

Concerned Citizen 1e05: Why don't people just use RON 95? RON 97 is for rich oil guzzlers. Let them pay. We normal folks are not affected as long as RON95 remains.

Malaysiasakit: RM2.50 for RON 97 is still cheap compared to what others pay elsewhere. Where I live, we use RON91 and it retails at RM4.10 a litre. From my observation, RON 95 is more than adequate for most cars on the road.

RON97 (RM4.80 a litre) is used mostly by performance cars and if used on non-performance cars, it is akin to pouring money into the drain. So stop complaining and focus on what is important to the nation.

P Dev Anand Pillai: The Felda folks usually go around in bikes, perhaps the richer ones will have their fuel subsidised by the gratuitous handouts, but those in Tenang who voted for Umno-BN have been given what they had been promised - high fuel prices. This is the ‘People First' mentality that the government practices for the betterment of its people.

Now perhaps after Chinese New Year when all are still reeling from the effects of the new hike, they may hike the RON95. After all, what do they actually care about - to them those who drive huge fuel guzzlers are the non-Malays with a lot of money?

Keep up the good work people, continue to vote for BN, you might even end up without a roof over your heads soon.

Rakyat Malaysia: The BN government has failed to manage our country, and the rakyat are blamed for taking too much subsidy. Why is it always the rakyat get the blame for BN's failure and BN's corruption?

In fact, we all know BN is spending too much - building new palaces, 100-storey tower, mega-projects, Gamuda rail project, etc, and borrowing money under the name of Malaysians. Everyone of you is saddled with the debt, but the money is spent by BN, not you.

Terror links: Another 'get Anwar' witchhunt

ExUmnoMan: Anwar Ibrahim is indeed the greatest threat to Umno/BN. That is the fact. That is the only reason why Umno/BN will, by hook or by crook, 'kill' Anwar. They really fear him, otherwise they wouldn't care so much. If one were an ordinary politician, Umno/BN couldn't careless and would just ignore him. But this is Anwar.

If he were to become the PM, these people would have sleepless nights, waiting for their turn to be prosecuted for all their wrongdoing in this world. When they die, they will surely and certainly be openly and justly judged and prosecuted again. That time, it would be much more deliberate and endless.

617_dd: Everyone heard and read what CNN said. They linked the possibility that the Muslim Brotherhood was funding many countries' opposition figures. So what are you trying to say? That this should not be investigated?

PKR's Tian Chua went to Paris when Najib was there to speak about the PM's involvement with Altantuya Shaariibuu. They had instigated the French to investigate the Scorpene submarines deal. So why can't Anwar be investigated?

CP4 abolishment: Let the Home Ministry do their homework. At least then the Home Ministry and the government has a clearer picture and Anwar can have a clean bill of liaisons. PKR should take to heart that there is a black-and-white a report not conducted by PKR but by BN and the government to clarify that Anwar has nothing to do with terrorists.

Anonymous222: PM Najib asked Saudi Arabia to probe Anwar's alleged funding by Saudi's princes. Nothing was found. And now Home Minister Hishammuddin Hussein said Saudis have been probing Anwar's terrorists' link?

What kind of logic is this? The man who cried thief and the man investigating are the same person, but there's no thief. Are they trying to plant 'evidence' so police can investigate and find the so-called evidence?

Changeagent: Hishammuddin, first you told us that Anwar is an American stooge and CIA agent. Now, you are telling us that he has alleged links to militant Muslim groups. Please make up your mind which is true and which isn't because the two accusations are mutually exclusive and on diametrically opposite ends.

One cannot possibly be an American stooge with strong cordial links to Muslim terrorist groups.

Siasat macamana? Duit berbillion ringgit dibawa keluar? Takut siasat terkena diri sendiri. Tu yang tutup.
