Coup for MCA as PKR founder-member joins up

Call me Jibby: "He (MCA chief Chua Soi Lek) pointed out that PAS had only won six state seats in Perak in 2008 compared to DAP and PKR, which controlled 18 and seven seats respectively. Yet, the menteri besar was selected from PAS."

Umno, Perkasa and Pekida, where art thou? Someone from MCA has questioned a Malay sultan's power and authority to choose his menteri besar.

Nah: No surprise here. ‘Jump-shippers' usually show up during by-elections and general elections. However, the biggest surprise is that Umno's Ezam Mohd Noor was there and said: "There is no party in Malaysia or in the world where 90 percent of its founding members have quit. There must be something very wrong.".

Perhaps he has forgotten that Onn Jaafar, the founder of Umno, quit Umno when he was still its president. The ex-president of Umno and the Bapa Merdeka also quit Umno and died as a non-Umno member. So, there must be something very, very wrong in Umno.

Toffeesturn: A former MCA vice-president Chua Jui Meng joined the PKR - that, my friends, is a coup. Who is this fly? I have never heard of him, and you call it a coup? Come on MCA, with all the ill-gotten wealth, you could do better. But the better PKR people can't be bought - unlike the MCA people, they have principles.

YF: I find it silly that MCA is doing most of the attacks against PAS when it should be Umno doing it. Didn't anyone at Umno and Perkasa tell Chua Soi Lek that every attack that he makes at PAS hits at the Malays and their religion?

PAS should take advantage of the fact that Umno is allowing a non-Malay to dictate how non-Malay Malaysians should negatively think of the Malays and their religion.

Kgen: If Ng Lum Yong gave some good reasons for joining MCA, I may consider, but his reason for leaving PKR is rubbish. Nothing more than a flimsy fabricated pseudo-reason. So if PKR doesn't struggle for justice, does MCA? Like Ezam, Ng has been bought over.

AkuMelayu: People, it is never too late to realise your mistakes and admit it. Ng Lum Yong is one very good example which everyone in Pakatan should emulate. After 25 years in the opposition, he is willing to admit that he has been wrong all those years. That in itself is a monumental effort by him.

Syabas, Ng Lum Yong. Come all, and vote BN for development, stability and harmony.

Ghkok: Frankly, I've never heard of Ng Lum Yong. What's the big news? There are hundreds of thousands of members and volunteers serving the opposition movement who are going about their work quietly, diligently and successfully, and who are carrying their cards with several-digit membership numbers, and many don't even have membership cards.

But they are nevertheless serving the cause of justice and reform day-in and day-out, looking forward to the day when our country call an end to one-party tyranny and transition to an era of stable two-party system where voters dictates who they want to form the federal government, be it Pakatan Rakyat or BN.

Anonymous_40eb: Sandiwara lompat-melompat parti bukan sesuatu yang boleh mempengaruhi rakyat lagi. Isu Negara Islam yang dulunya cukup menakutkan kaum Cina pun, kini sudah di pandang sepi oleh mereka, inikan pula sandiwara basi begini.

Kalau ingin menunjukan prinsip, janganlah melompat ke dalam Umno atau MCA, kerana majoriti rakyat sudah tahu betapa buruknya parti yang bergelumang dengan rasuah tersebut. Kalau pun PKR kotor, apakah MCA lebih bersih dari PKR? Persoalan ini pun tak boleh di pertimbangkan, Ezam kononnya mahu memerangi rasuah tapi melompat kedalam parti rasuah.

YF: This is expected from PKR, who are mostly the leftovers from BN. The only difference is that they have formed a party to oppose BN but their mentality and carnal pursuits are the same as BN. It's about time PKR take a serious re-look of their members and election candidates. I suspect in the next election more frogs will appear as BN is now so desperate.

BTN: Ng Lum Yong is no different from the other traitors who do not have the staying power. So what if you a founding member but do not have principle? He could have left and join that sinking ship MCA at any other time but chose to do it now, as he craves for publicity which he does not have.

No tears will be shed for people like him and Chua can recruit more of such spineless people, not only in PKR but in any other party as well.

Loo Soon Fatt: Ng Lum Yong could not believe he would win in Wangsa Maju and rejected the offer. Instead a desperate Wee Choo Keong took the chance and won.

But it did not matter as both are traitors to the party. A founding PKR member now frog-leaping to the other side clearly shows his level of integrity is next to zero. At the least, he should have retired gracefully and allow younger members to lead the party.

Lusiapa: Such a gimmick does not work any more now. It was used to maximum effect, say 20, 30 years ago; and in some cases, did actually have a bearing on the outcome of the by-election. Alas, times have changed and people are more informed and do not fall for that.

Nowadays, only desperate, naive or cheapskate politicians resort to this silly action to woo the voters.


Soi Lek mocks 1Malaysia policy, says Pua

Tired: Tony Pua, in your eagerness to score points with Chua Soi Lek over the handshake issue, you have contradicted yourself and the stance of your comrades in DAP. You accused Chua Soi lek of not respecting Islam, but what about DAP which opposes PAS' Islamic state intentions?

If DAP really respects Islam, it should not have any problem with the Islamic state and hudud, which will only be enforced on Muslims. You also said Chua has mocked the 1Malaysia concept, but the last time I checked, DAP and its allies in Selangor have no trust at all in the concept. So why bother whether Chua has mocked 1Malaysia or not?
