The list of the new Terengganu Umno liaison committee members will be announced at the committee's first meeting this year scheduled for Jan 25 in Kuala Terengganu.

Its chairperson Ahmad Said said the invitation letters would be sent to those who are listed in the committee as well as to all state Umno division chiefs soon.

"The new committee will see a combination of old and new faces for sure," he told reporters after attending a gathering with Besut Umno veterans in Besut today.

Ahmad, however, refused to name those involved in the reshuffle.

Meanwhile, he also said a special officer would be appointed in each Umno division statewide to strengthen the movement of Umno veterans.

He said this was because the veterans could play a vital role to ensure Umno's success in the next general election.

At present, he said Umno veterans who are still active in politics numbered almost 50,000 and made up nine percent of the total registered voters in Terengganu.
