Bagan Jermal fire and rescue chief Roslan Hasnan said the incident happened at 11.40pm at a temporary parking lot nearby Jalan Nunn.
According to him, the fire is believed to have started beneath one of the cars before it spread to the adjacent ones.
"The three cars were completely destroyed. However, quick action by firemen prevented the fire from spreading to other cars parked at the place," he said when contacted by Bernama.
He said no casualties were reported and that investigations were under way to determine the cause of the fire.
