Strong winds, choppy seas warning

Strong winds and choopy seas are forecast till Thursday for states facing the South China Sea in the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia as well as Sarawak.
Meteorological department says, the wind speeds can reach up to 60 knots while the waves can reach as high as 4.5 metres.

According to a statement from the Malaysian Meteorological station today, the wind speeds can reach up to 60 knots while the waves can reach as high as 4.5 metres.
The situation is dangerous to small boats and sea recreational activities, it said.
Coupled with the strong winds and high waves, the east coast states of Pahang, Kelantan and Terengganu and eastern Johore will also face higher than usual high tides till Thursday, the statement added.
The prevailing intermittent rain faced by Bintulu, Miri, Limbang and Kapit is also forecast to continue till Wednesday.
