S'gor PAS now warms up to Khusrin

Ferdtan: Since when has Selangor PAS become an unofficial apologist for an Umno-friendly state secretary? If Hasan Ali, head of Selangor PAS, keeps on helping Pakatan Rakyat opponents, he should join Umno - since he loves Umno more than his Pakatan friends.

Hasan was the main protagonist in the PAS-Umno coalition talks to take over Selangor government immediately after the last general elections. Does he still harbour hopes to be the menteri besar of Selangor, as promised then by Umno, if he were to bring Selangor PAS to Umno?

Before the March 8 general elections, PAS had never won any seats in the urban areas in the west coast, especially in Selangor and Perak where non-Muslims form a sizeable number. Most of the non-Muslims have come to accept and not fear PAS, so don't spoil it.

It is not surprising that Hasan Ali is the one who more or less defended the Umno-appointed state secretary. If he, an exco, cannot agree with the state government, then he should quit the government.

Enviroman: Today Hasan Ali has double-confirmed that he is an Umno mole, especially when he said "when I was in the government". He must be a former Umno rat. If he ever gets selected to be a candidate, the voters must reject him. Especially now with an Umno-appointed state secretary, the possibility of another Perak has increased a few notches.

Swipenter: We have not forgotten Hasan Ali as being the thorn and one of the main persons trying to destabilise the Selangor Pakatan Rakyat state government during its early days. Watch him like a hawk. He is up to his old tricks again.

MySecret: Hasan Ali seems to be struck by the "civil servants mogok - jangan cabar kami" syndrome. Which master are you serving when you said that, may I ask?

Dark Knight: Something is wrong with Hasan Ali. He seems to be playing both sides of the issue. By saying that he has experience in government, he is ridiculing the MB for his lack of experience in managing a state.

Again, by suggesting civil servants can picket, he is actually reminding hostile civil servants of what they can do if they are censured by the state government. Coming from a leader of a friendly party, this is not right at all.

Mohd: Even though I have not "acclimatised" to this guy, on this occasion I believe his words are logical and very diplomatic. It is a good cop approach, but I hope with the same intentions as with the rest of the Pakatan group.

Harrisman: There are many things which Dr Mahathir Mohamad has said that is not right. But the one thing he said that is spot on - PAS was and is not a reliable partner.

P Dev Anand Pillai: We can't dismiss the possibility of PAS jumping ship if the going gets tough. With 21 on their side, all BN would need is for eight to cross over and it will be another Perak saga all over again. PAS has still got to convince voters that they are really genuine. If they can't do that, the people would give the MCLM (Malaysian Civil Liberties Movement) candidates their votes.

Pakatan has got to be wary of PAS. So far they have not crossed over in Kedah, Penang or Perak so we hope that Selangor doesn't make them be the first to do so.

The people are fed up with parties who take them for granted and continue to cheat them, the BN has been doing this and if Pakatan is also the same, the people will take to the streets to demand good governance if they have no choice left.

Habib RAK: Hasan Ali, why would 28,000 Selangor civil servants picket for the back-door state secretary? Are you involved in any clandestine activities to instigate the civil servants?

Ashoka: Hasan Ali, what nonsense are you talking about? How can the 28,000 civil servants in the state picket over this issue? The appointment of the state secretary has nothing to do with them.

They are paid to do their job as according to their job description, and they cannot dictate who the state secretary is. They can only picket if it affects their terms of service. PAS, get rid of this idiot before he embarrasses you further.

What's this?: It is not Selangor PAS that has warmed up with Kushrin. It is Hasan Ali's personal opinion. With two moles in the state government, Pakatan is in big trouble. MB Khalid should stand very firm on this matter. Give way, and Selangor will fall back to Umno/BN.


Toe the line, PAS sec-gen tells Hasan Ali

AlexToo: This is what we want to hear from PAS' central leadership. All efforts must be made to ensure Hasan Ali lose his seat in the next election in order to prevent something similar to Perak from happening. This guy has the word ‘traitor' written all over his face. He is eyeing the MB post.

Swipenter: Remembering how much trouble and damage he did to Selangor Pakatan state government with his mouth in the early days, this time PAS lost no time in telling Hasan Ali to shut up. That is the way to go, PAS.

Md Imraz Muhammed Ikhbal: There is absolutely nothing wrong with what Hasan Ali said as at no point did it contradict with the Selangor state government's stand on Khusrin. Likewise, there is also nothing wrong with the caution issued by Mustafa Ali and all is in good spirit. I see no friction whatsoever and I salute both Mustafa and Hasan. Both are right in what they say.

Hassan reminds us not to attack Khusrin personally but supports the state government's stand on the matter unreservedly. Mustafa merely cautioned everyone so the team members do not end up over-stepping the line inadvertently. Don't be swallowed by the media's sensationalisation of non-issues.

Geez_5a0: Finally, this is long overdue. PAS should have sacked him when he put the party to a new low when he solicited sponsorship from Puncak Niaga for PAS' 2009 Muktamar (annual meeting) when the state was at war against the company on water issues. Shame on you, Hasan!

Hello: PAS secretary-general Mustafa Ali's caution/admonishment to Hasan Ali came at the right time. Hasan Ali's statement on working with the state secretary gave rise to a lot of strife and suspicion to the ordinary people and especially the partners of PAS in Pakatan.

Hasan Ali sounds like he has inclination towards Umno. I would now worry that he will transform into a frog and become a born-again Umnoputra. With members like this, who needs enemies?

Ketuanan Rakyat: PAS should sack Hasan Ali immediately. It is time for Pakatan to show it means what it is saying. Hassan Ali is a 'frog' waiting to jump at right time once he is given what he wants by Umno.
