Nong Chik to meet Maju Holding over TBS-BTS

Federal Territories and Urban Well-Being Minister Raja Nong Chik Raja Zainal Abidin will meet Maju Holding Sdn Bhd, the developer of the Integrated Transportation Terminal-Bandar Tasik Selatan (TBS-BTS) next week to discuss problems on the initial plan of the recreational park near the terminal.
Raja Nong Chik says he has a win-win situation for both parties but it all depended on whether the developer was willing to accept it or not.
Federal Territories and Urban Well-Being Minister Raja Nong Chik Raja Zainal Abidin will meet Maju Holding Sdn Bhd, the developer of the Integrated Transportation Terminal-Bandar Tasik Selatan (TBS-BTS) next week to discuss problems on the initial plan of the recreational park near the terminal.
He said he had a win-win situation for both parties but it all depended on whether the developer was willing to accept it or not.
"If he does not agree, we can't do anything, we still have to follow the law," he told reportes after opening the 111th Kampung Baru Malay Agriculture Settlement (MAS) Annivesary and 'Tiga Alam' Exhibition in Kuala Lumpur, today.
On 80 former hawkers who had to relocate to make way for the terminal and had not been given the opportunity to do business there, he said the ministry's Secretary-General Ahmad Phesal Talib had already met with the affected victims.
"The secretary-general has already called for a meeting with all the hawkers, and we will coordinate the hawkers lots," he said.
Last Friday the government had issued a 14-day notice to the developer (Maju Holding Sdn Bhd) to tear down the fences built on a land earmarked for a public recreational park in Bandar Tasik Selatan, here.
A day later, during a meeting with its executive chairman Abu Sahid Mohamed to discuss the matter, it turned into a heated debate between Raja Nong Chik and Abu Sahid, ending the meeting abruptly.
At a press conference then, Abu Sahid claimed that the five houses built on the land together with the land were his, which he bought in 1989 and said the claim by the government that it was an open area was not true.
