PAS secretary-general Mustafa Ali has warned Selangor PAS chief Dr Hasan Ali against acting or issuing statements contradicting the stand of party president Abdul Hadi Awang.

NONEReacting to a Malaysiakini report on Hasan’s statements made earlier today, Mustafa (right) said PAS had together with its partners in Pakatan Rakyat decided to support the Selangor government’s position on the appointment of the state secretary.

This entails supporting the Pakatan-led state government’s move to amend the state constitution in order to return to the sultan and menteri besar powers over the appointment of senior state officials.

“I wish to remind all quarters, particularly the Selangor PAS leadership, so as not to make any statement or move that is different from what has been said to be the party’s position.

“I’m following the developments in Selangor closely, and I hope no leader in Selangor takes such disparate stands as this,” Mustafa told PAS organ Harakahdaily.

NONEHis statements come on the heels of a press conference held this morning wherein Hasan (middle in photo), who also holds the religious affairs exco portfolio in the Selangor government, said he may have had issues with federal appointee Mohd Khusrin Munawi in the past.

Such issues can, however, be overcome with proper consultation and by keeping the lines open, said Hasan, citing his “experience in government”.

Hasan, Harakahdaily also noted, had also cautioned the state government against launching a personal attack against Khusrin as this "may not be fair and can cause problems with the 28,000 civil servants in the state".

“If they picket, we may be in trouble,” he warned.

PAS had recently held a gathering in Shah Alam’s Melawati Stadium to state its full support for the Selangor government.
