Gerakan Youth has jumped to the defence of party president Koh Tsu Koon, telling Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng to "wait for the surprises" to be revealed after March.

Its deputy chief Oh Tong Keong said the wing is "shocked and surprised" that Lim had so swiftly responded to Koh's challenge that the BN would soon expose Pakatan Rakyat's state government weaknesses.

NONEOh (right) said Koh, who is also Penang BN chairperson, only stated that they would unveil a few "surprises" in March as part of the coalition's strategy to prepare for the next general election.

"Within a day, Lim is asking Koh to say what he has to say now and don't wait until after March," said Oh, pointing at Lim's apparent impatience.

"Gerakan Youth will like to advise the DAP secretary-general to be patient and wait for the revelations from Koh.

"We in BN and Gerakan do not need to follow Lim's timetable and agenda...we have our own strategy."

Severe criticism

Yesterday, Lim had criticised Koh severely for keeping mum on alleged misdeeds during the tenure of the previous state government led by Gerakan.

Lim demanded that Koh, a federal minister, should come clean on two scandals which had caused the state government a whopping RM270 million in losses.

The two cases were the Tan Hack Ju RM42 million land deal which landed the state administration in court, where the current government had already paid RM15 million for the case; and the RM230 million losses incurred by the Seberang Perai municipal council.

NONELim (left) was responding to Koh's statement on Saturday, when he said he had waited and given the opposition a chance to criticise him and the BN.

However in March, the BN will be more active and aggressive in convincing Penangites about what BN has done for them.

Oh said he is surprised that Lim seems unable to sleep well now that Koh has mentioned about BN's "surprises".

He also said Lim is "arrogant and always kiasu (a Hokkien word for 'afraid to lose')".

He reminded Lim that the Tan Hack Ju case had been discussed during the latter's public debate with Koh in 2009.

"Everything was revealed then... Lim should take a look at the video recording of the debate again... his bringing up of the case only shows that he is always fond of singing old tunes," said Oh.

The DAP-led Penang government should change its slogan of competency, accountability and transparency to "complaining, accusing and twisting".

He added that Lim is also good at playing tai chi and often misleads the people when a problem occurs.

Koh will not dance to Guan Eng's tune
