Pakatan Rakyat Selangor has denied that the coalition is behind a banner put up by unknown quarters allegedly rejecting the intervention of the sultan in the administration of the state government.

NONE“We deny that it was by us. The message of the banner conflicts with the stand,"said Shah Alam MP Khalid Samad (left, speaking).

“We do not want any quarrels with the palace. This was proven when the MB (menteri besar) and exco attended the sultan’s ceremony.”

He was referring to the swearing-in ceremony of state secretary appointee Mohd Khusrin Munawi before Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah.

At a conference at his office in Shah Alam this morning, the PAS lawmaker said there were three banners.

NONEOne found in Section 9, Shah Alam, reads: 'Where is the justice of the sultan in the issue of the state secretary’s appointment? Who has more right?'

The two others, with slogans such as 'People Power' and 'No to Royals', were found in Section 13.

According to Khalid, symbols of all three Pakatan coalition parties were printed on the banners as well as the words ‘Selangor information bureau’.

Another PAS Shah Alam central committee member has lodged a police report over this.

NONEMohd Sofian Mohd Shariff filed the report at the Section 11 police station.

In his report, Mohd Sofian said he found the banner in Section 9 am and believes it was hung there by irresponsible quarters.
                        
Met later this afternoon, Selangor PKR Youth chief Khairul Anuar Ahmad Zainudin (above) also said his organisation is not behind the banners and that this could be the work of parties seeking to cause a rift between Pakatan and the Selangor palace.

“We will lodge a police report,” he told Malaysiakini.
