S'wak MPs first in line for one-on-one with Najib

Ma'arip: I have three election promises by BN that I am demanding fulfilment:

1) During Dr Mahathir Mohamad's early years as PM, he had ‘Bersih, Cekap, Amanah' slogan. Yet, corruption has gotten worse by the day.

2) Ex-PM Abdullah Ahmad Badawi had Islam Hadhari, yet we have an alleged rape case which was covered up.

3) Najib has his ‘1Malaysia' slogan, but racial integration does not seem to be heading in the right direction. Perkasa and Utusan Malaysia are the contributing factor, so what action is the BN taking?

Concerned_Father: As a taxpayer in Selangor, I have a question: Why the PM met only BN MPs to find out their needs? Does this mean Najib is PM only for areas under BN MPs' control? So why is the Inland Revenue Board collecting my tax money?

Dennis Madden: What a waste of time and money. But this is Malaysia, where time isn't important, but money is, so long as it's someone else's money that you are spending. Isn't the PM supposed to be running the country? And aren't these parliamentarians supposed to make public their ideas on the floor of Parliament?

Pissed off: Najib to MP: "Here's RM3 million to make sure ‘you help me, I help you' is fully understood by your constituents. Have you calculated how many more postal votes you need?

"Oh, no need to worry about the Election Commission or the police. They'll make sure ceramah permit application forms are not available and opposition voters will find their names miles away in the next constituency."

KLeo: If I were an MP and were given five minutes with PM Najib Razak, I'd tell him off for his sheer arrogance in thinking that my constituency deserves only five minutes of his time, and that only right before a general election.

Nap: It's worrying that the most powerful man in the country feels that all constituencies have an equal five-minute time frame to tell all. Can highly populated Subang have the same number of issues with Padang Siding in Perlis?

My Secret: The meetings is not so much what the rakyat wants. It's more what the MPs want personally. Sure, improve this and that, but the contracts and incredibly-bloated prices go to who? It's obvious. ‘Ang pows' are coming.

Lim Chong Leong: Just how many issues can be ventilated by the MPs in the five minutes they had with the PM? How many issues can the PM attend to with so many MPs all at the same time? How many issues can he remember?

For me, this is just another sandiwara to show that the PM cares, but the truth is he couldn't care less. It was a big show with no substance, just like his slogans.

Anonymous_418d: They underestimated the opposition the last time, so now they will not do so. There may be corruption, but they want to see the rakyat happy, and this time they will do it, all thanks to the opposition.

Pure Malaysian: I thought MCA chief Chua Soi Lek announced the other day that there won't be any general election soon. Just like how earlier on they said there won't be any rise in petrol price. So it is in Bolehland - when they say ‘no', it means ‘yes'.

Ghkok: In the next general election, the main objective for our country is to end 53 years of one-party rule and to move to a two-party system. The system of one-party rule has run its course for our country. Such a system tend to lead to decay. It can happen in any country.

Our country seriously needs to ‘reboot' and ‘refresh' itself by having a change of federal government to Pakatan Rakyat. Once that is in place, Pakatan can solidify itself while the BN can genuinely reform itself.

Thereafter when the two-party system is cemented, Pakatan and BN can play their parts as equal contenders in an oppression-free arena, competing to offer the best solutions for our country.

A culture of changing federal governments every two or three terms must be embedded in the psyche of voters in order to support a genuine two-party system.


Sabah coal plant: Najib refuses to listen to rakyat

Moontime: I have been living in Sabah for almost 10 years and I share the writer's concern. The ruling elite would never ever think about the long-term effects and how damaging this power plant will be to the environment. What they see is just RM and $.

It's so sad that our children and grandchildren will ultimately pay for this shortsightedness. Unless we take action now to change the government, we'll all be responsible for this grave injustice.

Najib claims that he listens to everyone - this article runs contrary to his claim. He may have listened to the wrong advice given by his sycophants when he should listen to the those who will be directly affected by the power plant.
This clearly shows he is a weak leader who can't make good use of his conscience and sense of justice when making such an important decision.

Fearless: That's the way. Speak out and stand up for what you believe in. Enough is enough. Vote out the politicians who do not listen to the rakyat.
