Seri Muda assemblyperson Shuhaimi Shafiei's controversial blog posting on the Selangor Sultan had apparently triggered splashing of red paint this morning on his office at Kota Kumuning, near Kota Raja.

According to his special assistant Azmizam Zaman Huri, the red paint on the front door was detected at 6am by staff member who had stayed overnight.

NONE"Unfortunately we did not spot any suspicious person around this area," he said.

Azmizam, who is also PKR Youth vice-chief, said his office immediately alerted the police.

"At about 8am the police came and yellow-taped the affected area. We are now waiting for the investigation report. We also have CCTV here," he said.

Shuhaimi had allegedly said in his Dec 30 blog that the Sultan of Selangor had acted arbitrarily in appointing the new state secretary, sparking a lot of negative reaction as well as a police report against him.

Denies ah long involvement

Among those upset were two NGOs, the Gerakan Anti Penyelewengan Selangor (Gaps) movement and the Pertubuhan Pribumi Perkasa Malaysia (Perkasa) which wanted Shuhaimi hanged for allegedly trying to instigate "a war against Malay Rulers".

NONEHowever, yesterday his party hit back, saying that the issue was being manipulated for political mileage.

When contacted by Malaysiakini today, Azmizam said he would lodge a police report on this matter this afternoon, probably at the Shah Alam district police station, and another against Utusan Malaysia for reporting that Shuhaimi had committed treason (menderhaka) against the Sultan of Selangor.

Azmizam also denied that ah longs had anything to do with the paint attack, adding that his boss had never received such a warning before.

Meanwhile, Bernama reports, Shah Alam police chief Supt Zahedi Ayob confirmed that police had received a report on the incident.
