Robbers broke into the house of Malay Mail Group editorial adviser Ahirudin Attan, also known as blogger Rocky Bru, at Taman Damai Utama in Puchong and drove away his Peugeot 407.

Ahirudin, who is also the president of the National Press Club, told Bernama when contacted today that the robbers are believed to have gained entry into the house about 3am, when all nine family members were asleep.

"There were nine of us in the house - me, my wife, my mother-in-law, my three children and three more children who were our relatives.

"My mother-in-law woke up about 5am and found the front door ajar and alerted me," he said.

He added that when he came down, he found the car, worth about RM100,000, and his wife's watch missing.

"We do not have much things in the house and probably the robbers just found the car key and decided to drive away with it. When I inquired from the security guards in the housing estate, they told me that they saw my car leaving at about 3am," he said.

However, the guards could not identify who was inside the car.

Ahirudin said the housing estate, situated in Bandar Kinrara, had engaged the services of a security firm to man the main entrance and exit point of the housing estate about three months ago and that the break-in at his house was the first incident since.

Serdang police chief Supt Abdul Razak Elias, when contacted by Bernama, confirmed the incident.
