Nominations are set for Jan 22 for the by-election caused by the death of BN Sulaiman Taha who died on Dec 17.
PAS deputy Johor commissioner Dzulkefly Ahmad told Malaysiakini today that the video footage has been uploaded on YouTube.
“We are lodging a police report on the matter at the Labis station with material evidence in support,” he said.
“We see this as a clear evidence of government officers and machinery being used to help the BN garner support in a way that violates civil service neutrality in politics,” he added.
Dzulkefly said if senior civil servants want to take part in politics, they must first resign from their posts in the service before entering the political fray,” he asserted.
Two anonymous booklets
Dzulkefly said his party was not concerned about two booklets, one entitled ‘DAP Anti-Islam’ and the other, ‘Khawarij dan Parti PAS’, which have been circulating in Tenang in the prelude to the campaign. 
The booklets, whose authorship is anonymous, attack DAP personalities for being anti-Islam and claim that PAS is an Islamic party that is guilty of ‘khawarij’.
‘Khawarij’ is the term given to a set of Islamic practitioners considered fanatical in their observances and criticisms of other Muslims.
Dzulkefly dismissed the booklet attacking PAS as ‘khawarij’ because “if we are that, we would have long ago been called to account for our conduct by the authorised Islamic body here, which is the Islamic affairs department.”
“We are followers of ahli sunnah wal’ jammah which is what Sunni Muslims are in this country. We are not ‘khawarij’ and therefore not liable to interdiction by the local Muslim authorities,” he explained.
“This booklet attacking us is the work of propagandists who do not know what they are talking about,” claimed Dzulkefly.
As for the booklet attacking DAP, Dzulkefly said it was another example of propaganda missing its mark by a mile.
