Man dies, girlfriend hurt as train rams car

A man was killed and his girlfriend badly injured after a train rammed their car which had skidded onto the railway tracks at Km43 of Jalan Temerloh-Bahau near Bera early today.
They were travelling from Kemayan to Temerloh when the car skidded at 1.45am and went onto the railway tracks.

Bera police chief DSP Mohd Zahid Mohd Noor said Tee Wei Keong, 22, died on the spot while his girlfriend Tan Peng Pie, 18, was sent to the Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Hospital in Temerloh.
He said Tee and Tan were travelling from Kemayan to Temerloh when the car skidded at 1.45am and went onto the tracks, and was hit by a passing train believed to be going from Singapore to Tumpat, Kelantan.
The train hit the car, dragged it for a distance and caused it to overturn, hurling both Tee and Tan out, he said, adding that the train did not stop.
