Pressure mounts over Khusrin's appointment
Some 60 Pakatan Youth members marched to the office of the chief secretary to the government in Putrajaya this morning to protest the appointment of Mohammed Khusrin Munawi as Selangor state secretary.

Some 60 Pakatan Youth members marched to the office of the chief secretary to the government in Putrajaya this morning to protest the appointment of Mohammed Khusrin Munawi as Selangor state secretary.

ing representatives of all three Youth wings of the component parties, they were led by Selangor Pakatan Youth chief Khairul Anuar Ahmad Zainuddin, national DAP deputy chief Jenice Lee and Selangor PAS Youth chief Hasbullah Mohd Ridzuan.
They assembled in front of the Putrajaya mosque about 10.20am and marched about 500 metres to Sidek Hassan's office in the Prime Minister's Office.
When they arrived at the visitors’ entrance about 10.33am, police allowed the three leaders to proceed to Sidek’s office.
This was after negotiations between protest leaders, the police and officers from the chief secretary’s office. While originally wanting to send in a 10-member delegation, the group agreed to sending in only three.
They handed over a memorandum of protest to a personal assistant of senior confidential secretary Rosli Laji, along with a copy of the state constitution.
The trio emerged 
about 16 minutes later to shouts of, ‘reformasi’, ‘respect the state’ and ‘reject Khusrin’ from the assembled supporters.
After holding a press conference, they dispersed at 11.30am.
“The chief secretary’s appointment of Khusrin clearly sidelines Menteri Besar Khalid Ibrahim and violates the constitution of the state. We don’t want to suspect the chief secretary of having political motives,” Khairul Anuar told journalists.
Lee said point-blank that the move to appoint Khusrin is a BN act of “sabotage”.
“This is ...in order to wrest the state,” she said.
Hasbullah lamented the fact that the sultan and palace have been dragged into the matter.
“This action is highly inappropriate as it can sully his Highness’ dignity,” he cautioned.
While there was no immediate answer from the chief secretary or his officers, the protest leaders were given assurances that their concerns would be considered.
“We hope that the chief secretary will give his answer tonight or tomorrow, and defend his decision to appoint Khusrin,” added Khairul Anuar.
There was an overwhelming police presence complete with a light strike force unit, but they did not act against the protestors.
There was some commotion when protestors tried to unfurl a banner, but police and protest organisers agreed that no banners were to be displayed in a compromise to allow them to march on the road.
