Malaysia's external trade is expected to be sustained at the RM1 trillion mark this year, driven by the recovery in the global trade, said Deputy Minister of International Trade and Industry, Mukhriz Mahathir.

He said the RM1 trillion mark was exceeded last year.

"2010 was a good year and we are hoping that external trade will stay at the same level for this year," he said when asked on the trade prospect for this year.

Earlier, Mukhriz chaired the protem committee of 1Malaysia National Youth Chamber of Commerce meeting in Kuala Lumpur today.
