Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) will set up a special team to investigate what actually caused its Senandung Langkawi locomotive to catch fire near the Segambut roundabout in Kuala Lumpur yesterday.     

Its managing director (Intercity Services SBU), Sarbini Tijan, said the team would comprised members from the company's engineering division.     

"We will convene a meeting tomorrow to discuss the setting up of the team," he told Bernama today.     

In yesterday's incident, about 600 passengers, including 30 tourists, were stranded when the diesel-powered locomotive of the Senandung Langkawi train on the way to Hadyai caught fire near the Segambut roundabout about 9.35pm.     

However, the fire was put out about half an hour later and there was no report of any casualty.     

All the passengers were able to continue their journey after the locomotive was replaced.
