Negeri Sembilan Commercial Crime Investigation Department is looking for a man who may have information that will help solve cases of datukship scam in the state.

Its investigation officer, Inspector Mohd Haffiz Rosni, said the 36-year-old man, identified as Jaspan Singh a/l Ajaib Singh whose last-known address was in Taman Sri Muda, Shah Alam, Selangor.

“He can help us solve this case but he has yet to be traced. The suspect in this case has also gone missing,” he told Bernama when contacted in Seremban today.

Mohd Haffiz said according to victims, they were offered a title of ‘Datuk’, allegedly to be conferred by the Negeri Sembilan palace, for a price of RM20,000.

Meanwhile, he said police were also looking for a 43-year-old man, known as Rohaizad Abu Zarin, to assist in the investigation on a personal loan scam.

“By paying him a deposit of RM15,000, victims were promised that their loan applications will be approved. When probed, the victims’ applications had never been submitted to the bank,” he said.
