The implementation of the federal government's projects worth more than RM35 million to develop the two state constituencies of Galas and Manik Urai is expected to be completed by the end of this month or by the middle of next year.

Kelantan Federal Development Department director Makhtar Mustafa said the projects included the construction of 200 houses in six Orang Asli settlements in the Galas constituency at a cost of RM18.5 million.

"The construction of the houses is in progress and is expected to be completed at the end of this month," he told reporters at the state-level Rela shooting skills test at the Gunung Shooting Range in Bachok today.

Makhtar said those who would move to the new houses comprised the Orang Asli community in Pos Balau, Pos Putat, Pos Handrop, Pos Brooke, Pos Tuel and Pos Sandway.

Meanwhile, he said, the largest project in the Manik Urai constituency would be the construction of the RM12-million Manik Urai bridge to link Manik Urai Baru and Manik Urai Lama.

Other projects being implemented in Manik Urai include the upgrading of the mosque in Kampung Temalir at a cost of RM600,000 and the construction of a sports complex in Kampung Manjor at a cost of RM300,000.
