Nazri: Pakatan MPs are 'stupid' and 'crazy'

Singa Pura Pura: The uncouth remarks ‘stupid' and ‘crazy' as shot by the minister at his political opponents might actually be bullets of a back-firing shotgun.

The unforgettable fire of Augustine Paul's swan song in Zambry vs Sivakumar was that Parliament is not supreme and that parliamentary supremacy in Malaysia is not absolute. That is because we have a written constitution - supremacy leans towards ‘constitutional' rather than ‘parliamentary'.

One only needs to read and re-read the prophetic ratio of Augustine Paul: "It follows that article 72(1) must be read as being subject to the existence of a power or jurisdiction, be it inherent or expressly provided for, to do whatever that has been done. The court is empowered to ascertain whether a particular power that has been claimed has in fact been provided for. The issues raised by the applicants are therefore justiciable."

Now, who is stupid and crazy? The minister, the dead judge, the opposition parliamentarians or the rakyat?

Rocky: Nazri, you may be right that parliament/state assembly proceedings can't be challenged in court. But then since there has been a precedent in Perak where the speaker was challenged, why is it that this is not be allowed now?

What else if it is so obvious the speaker has conflict of interest but refuses to recluse himself from the proceedings? Are you now very proud that you have put our nation on the world news to be a laughing stock again?

Mat Bond: Nazri, please give Pakatan a chance to be stupid like Umno. You were also stupid when you took over Perak using the judiciary. At least, that was what we Perakians thought. But we were wrong, the ‘stupids' won the court case.

It is Pakatan's turn now to be stupid and who knows Pakatan may win in court. Actually, I felt stupid supporting Pakatan's move, but sometimes it pays to be stupid.

Dood: It's funny that Nazri should talk about the separation of powers between the judiciary and the legislature. Umno/BN has conveniently forgotten that they had the courts involved in overruling what was decided at the Perak state assembly and to use them to ‘legitimise' their actions in the Perak coup.

M Suresh Kumar: No wonder we are not heading anywhere. With minsters like Nazri, we don't need court jesters. There are plenty of fools around in Parliament.

How and in which direction do you expect our country to grow if this is how Parliament is conducted? Do you have any love and respect for this country? For 22 years, we have had authoritarian rule and now you allowed things to worsen. What kind of country are you leaving to your children?

Fido Dido: The Dewan Rakyat speaker has to step down immediately as the rakyat has lost faith in him. He has not only violated the principle of conflict of interest but has also infringed the ethical conduct of a speaker.

Commotion black mark in Parliament history: Khairy

Not Confused: Khairy, you have absolutely no idea about the process of democracy or you wouldn't make such stupid comments.

DSAI (Anwar Ibrahim) was not allowed to defend himself at the rights and privileges committee meeting, despite being promised that he would have full right of response. This is a total travesty and it is right that the opposition show its disgust at the usual turn of events manipulated by the bankrupt party of which you are a part.

You cannot make an omelette with breaking a few eggs. Get used to it, because this is just the beginning.

Interested Bystander: "He said it was an insult to the supreme law-making body in the country."

What a laugh that is. The supreme law-making body is the Prime Minister's Department. Those in Parliament are merely boot lickers.

Habib RAK: Khairy and Abdul Rahman Dahalan of Kota Belud are outright liars. The speaker himself has admitted in Parliament that "there was a motion from the committee member, saying that there was no need to listen to the defence".

The repeated lies by both Khary and Abdul Rahman in their tweets are utterly disgusting.
